The End of Wizards: A Timeline

This timeline and supporting content is compiled from public posts, third-party reports, and personal recollection. It is not a legal finding or definitive record of events. Biases and Conflicts

I am Chief_Engineer. I was a head game admin, project manager, and the operations director of Space Wizards Federation and Wizard’s Den, the official Space Station 14 servers, before leaving with the rest of the headmin team and many admins in 2024.

In 2026, before the split between PJB and the majority of Wizard’s Den, I was banned. I was denied the ability to appeal, and was provided very little information on my ban. My ban was placed by PJB while in her position as project lead and it has been maintained while PJB has been out of leadership. This makes it reasonable to perceive that I am biased against either or both major parties in the timeline. There have been updates since the last post about my ban, but I remain officially banned. I am pursuing an appeal and have been told I would be granted an opportunity to appeal once things settle down. My ban is not the focus of this timeline, but the timeline does include various events related to bans, including mine.

I have had contact with, or been provided with information about, numerous individuals involved in the events connected to this timeline which could create actual or perceived bias, either in their favor or against them. I do not intend to attempt to disclose each individual bias because I am not sure that is practical. I have had such high involvement in Space Station 14 in the past that I believe a person could reasonably suspect I have some bias related to any given individual.

I am one of the people involved in running SS14’s Adminbus, a place for game admins from various SS14 servers to work together and socialize. Adminbus operates independently of Wizard’s Den and PJB, and I am not staff for any SS14 game server.

My goal is to provide an account of events reasonably free from any actual bias of mine. I consider refusing to cover an important subject or event entirely and solely due to fear of introducing bias to be an unreasonable step to avoid bias as I believe the exclusion would itself bias the timeline.

Aliases

Some people, projects, and groups publicly use multiple names. The timeline aims to be consistent in which name is used, but screenshots or external sources may use names that the timeline does not. Below are the most common public aliases that may be relevant to readers.

Wizard's Den

Wizard’s Den, Space Wizard’s Federation, or WizDen.

From June 6th to June 25th, 2026, this timeline will refer to the servers and infrastructure run by PJB as “PJBDen” while the other end of the split will be referred to as “StaffDen.” This is done to reduce ambiguity, neither group used these names. External sources may be extremely inconsistent and ambiguous due to both having claimed to be the real Wizard’s Den.

Review and Responses

As part of an effort to avoid incorrect, misleading, or biased content, multiple sources familiar with events reviewed versions or segments of the timeline. In addition, some subjects were contacted for an opportunity to respond, including to correct incorrect or missing information. Some of those subjects are listed below.

Wizard’s Den

A representative for Wizard’s Den was largely responsive to questions and requests related to this timeline. In the past, Wizard’s Den has not consistently been truthful or forthcoming. They certainly have bias with regard to the events detailed here. However, their responses appear to have been largely consistent with what could be verified using other sources.

PJB

Multiple attempts were made to reach PJB, but she essentially refused to answer questions. PJB has made conflicting statements about the 2024 admin departure. PJB reportedly disputed the idea she took a break shortly after the Governance Internal Letter was sent, despite describing it as a break both before and after the publication of that post. For these and other similar reasons, I must largely rely on public statements from PJB for her perspective of events, and her statements cannot necessarily be taken at face value.
